Why develop a new belly pan out of resonating aluminium that will probably
become really ugly once you've hit a few gravel-and-salt mix spots when you
can simply take your preferred jig-saw and cut all the openings you want? I
would probably not go the open-close trap route in that case as it will
probably creates extremely annoying whistle at high speed. Just leave it
open under the filter and the oil plug. AFAIK, there is nothing fragile in
these areas.

Ssssssoo...  should I get in on this Aluminumly Fabb'ed ghetto belly pan GB to appropriately and suitably match the rest of the Aluminumness of the bitch?  Naaaaaaa...  agreed with many of the points made here.  I bottomed my C4 out all too often (them poorpoorPOOR frame rail channels or that's what they used to be before I Paul'd them), and have once already der //D2.  And there's no channels to save the bottom of this suckah, which sorta suckas.  Oh well - nice subframe "badge of honour" to evidence.  Let a pan be of plastic I tink, tis be best.

I did read with humour tho that "dieselgeek" or whatever product write up about soft front ends floating to bottom-out-dom and it being thicklike armourlike, yup.  All too familiar.  Love the Panzer concept.  I think that may be a fitting vanity plate for me pig heh heh.  Panzer.
