[s-cars] NAC- New Jersey Tickets

If you have the option of mailing it back to request a hearing to
contest it, that might not be a bad idea.

Do they have any of your unique identifier info correct, such as SSN
or driver's license number? If they have everything wrong, they'll
send the hearing notice to the wrong person at the wrong address,
with no way to figure it out, and you're only out one stamp.

If they have something correct to identify you, but have the wrong
name and address, they'll send the hearing notice to the wrong person
at the wrong address, then when you default, they'll send that notice
of default to your state (perhaps). If it makes it to your state, and
your state takes action (like revoking your license within a short
number of days unless you fix the problem in the other state), you
should be able to successfully fight it based on the bad info.
Fighting this depends on whether the ticket will show up on your
insurance, how pissed off you are, and how much you value your time.

I had the second scenario happen while living in MA, from a ticket in
RI. It took me a few phone calls, and a bunch of effort over a couple
of days, but I won in the end. Good luck whatever your choose to do!
