[s-cars] New faltering problem

Hi Y'all,
A new (to me anyway) problem has reared its ugly head. So far it's not too
bad but I don't want it getting any worse and it is a bit of a safety
hazard as well.
The patient: 95.5 urS6 w/ RS2 mods, etc.
When the engine is cold-cold-cold on first start-up it fires and starts
immediately and runs just fine until I start to add a little power to pull
out of my driveway. Then the engine falters and feels like it has some
sort of fueling problem. By declutching and getting on the loud pedal a
bit it will pull for a bit and then falter a bit more. This lasts only the
first 200 feet or so and then all is well and the car runs absolutely
great. It definitely feels like a fuel starvation problem rather than some
sort of ignition problem.
This behavior, due to the location of my driveway entrance in a nearly
blind curve in the road, is more than just an annoyance. I need to be able
to get moving NOW to get out of the driveway while the way is still clear.
I have not tried letting the car idle for a minute or two before pulling
out. I'll do that this morning. Perhaps a little warm-up time might help
the immediate problem and provide another clue.
Cold start valve? If so, where is that mutha? Other suggestions?
Bob
