[s-cars] 1st, 2nd Gear difficulty -- advice?

I have nothing of 'help' to give to the thread, but just curious. : )

Why did you have a tranny rebuilt instead of sourcing a used low  
milage, or european 6 speed of the same? Just curious as these  
tranny's (as you know far better than i, i am sure) are supposed to  
be pretty 'sealed up' and not for the timid to rebuild. I know Stasis  
does nice work, but again- just curious.
