RE: gated shifters...

Funny, Darin and I were trading Testicleroaster stories (good one
Darin!) the other day and he referenced the gated shifting in the '86 he
tried was akin to churning frozen butter. I noted it was like stirring
an iron rebar around in a bucket of rocks heh heh heh.

All I could think about during the R8 'Ring vid was oh my tire wear
batman! Guy's sawing away in anger and you can nearly feel the scrub!
Assuredly that was the furthest from that guys mind. I dig tho how you
can see his expressions in the mirror - at times it does seem he's
particularly angry...

-Paul not particularly gated K.

Yeah, I was thinking the same. It may very well be the gated shifter,
but it's just not the sound I would have expected from a gated shifter.
The noise sure sounds kind of like a spring loaded mechanism, and very
consistent (i.e. I would expect a different sound between gears in plane
vs. out of plane with the gated shifter). And there seems to be a
slight delay in the engine reaction with every shift. Not as direct as
I would expect a manual to be. Could be my imagination.

Not a biggie.
