Oh, I beleive the TT225 and the 180Hp beetle engine are basically the same. 
Differences in software, injectors and a turbo/manifolds set them apart. 
Same crank, same block, same rods, same valves, same cams. Only the pistons 
are different.

And yes the motors are different from the A8, RS4 and R8. They are tuned 
differently for each chassis. But look at the data. They are all 4.2 chain 
drive motors, with FSI. Both the RS4 and R8 have high RPM tuned motors and 
put out the same HP, the R8 has trumpted intake runners and dry sump while 
and the RS4 has dual path. If they wanted, they could drop that motor into 
an A8 and everything would fit, basically the same base engine block and 
head design. The A8, Q7 and S5 will most likely have the same HP tuned 4.2 @ 
350, while the RS4 and R8 are the high RPM tuned 420 Hp motors. All based 
off the same 4.2 FSI chain drive engine design.
