[s-cars] Sciroccos (and GTi's) and Audis

The better question is what was the difference between the two?  Those  in 
the know chose the non S version for good reason....
I thought C&D summed it up well...  "like an ax, crude but  effective"
 
Back in late 84 I drove an 85 GTI, then went across the street and drove  the 
GLH turbo.  The S4 hot wire motronic with overboost on a 2.2L motor 7  years 
before audi got around to doing it.  Reach in the window and flick  the 
starter, went to idle.  The seats sucked, but it certainly lived up to  it's name... 
 With A/C that would freeze a beer.  The scirocco gave  one a sense of style, 
the GLH turbo just gave you a big s*it eating grin I  haven't had since until 
my drives in Bob D's LT1Q
