Subject: [s-cars] Replacing Three-spoke sport steering wheel badges

I am in the process of installing a three spoke sports steering wheels
in my 93 S5 and my 98 C4 Avant. The badges on the steering wheels that
I have are a bit mangled and I would like to replace them. However, my
local discounted Canadian price is CDN$56 which is about US$47.60.

I am getting pricing out of Germany for lots of 10 S4 and 10 S6 badges
for the three spoke sport steering wheels. Preliminary pricing ooks like
around US$36 for the "S4" badge and US$34 for the "S6" badges. Might be
a bit higher with import duty (but that's only about 6%).

They would make fantastic cuff-links or hat badges, laple pins, etc.
too (albeit a bit pricy).

Anybody interested?

Heh, now those WOULD make fabulous lapels now wouldn't they???

For reference, I recently replaced mine in der Alumibitch as mine was
all picked at (WTF is people's f'n problem???) and annoyed the _crap_
out of me. What a big difference the new one makes! Mike Del Turgo
(UrQ / V8) hooked me up with an ebay.de link, pricing was about $20,
plus some currency adjustment, then shipping abroad.

Ultimately it cost me a few cents under $40, so Dave's deal sounds good.

What a @#$% they are to get out though - well, that is, w/o f'n up the
f'n leather. I left one verrrrrrry microscopic scratch on the edge of
my 'rectangle' cutout, as well as left a slight "squish" mark to the
sharp edge of it from leverage used to remove the former. It's just
pressed in.

But, I *do* suck...
