So after buying about $800 worth of stuff for a new clutch I start thinking it may be nice to install a 6-spd at the same time. My car is RS2'd and from checking the numbers on the tranny it appears to be a pre-wide first gear CBD. Currently tranny shifts fine and no 1st gear noise.
A Kluge box is too pricey but after Bob and Paul explained to me that my car doesn't have the procon bracket I think a b5 S4tt EDU tranny may be just the thing. And I think I may have a line on a EDU tranny. But when I called my mechanic he wasn't interested in getting involved in a 'project.'
To those who have done it, what is involved in the install? Just one dowel isn't used or is there more? I saw the writeup on the DSY install which looks a little more involved.
Thanks
Dave
