Ha!
My '99 A6 is in pieces, even as we speak. Turns out the right side
headlamp motor is smoked and needs to be replaced. We'll see if it
can be removed without destroying the headlamp itself.
Also, we learned that the ecode lamps have different motors than
the US DOT lamps. The ecodes are manually adjustable, while the
DOT lamps are self levelling. I'm hoping my mechanic can work some
magic and put the self levelling motors in the ecode lamps, but
I'm not optimistic. They're entirely different in design.
So my '99 A6 has an S 3 spoke wheel and sport seats.
My son's '97 A6 has an S6 3 spoke wheel and may have a set of S6
sport seats within the next week or so.
There *is* an S in there somewhere, but most likely it will be a
'99 or '00 A4 avant S4 lookalike. I'm not putting too much more
money into my wagon, just going to drive it and save the slippery
slope for my next toy(s).
Ha. Fat Chance.
