Chuck, for your car stock clutch will be just fine. I used Sachs heavy duty on mine and it works excellent.
Clutch already on a heavy side in our Audis. I wouldn't do any stronger pressure plates just because it's daily driver and there is no point to destroy my knee over it :) Sachs is $370 at authausaz right now.
Labor price sounds pretty good but I suspect it's because of high parts cost. Wonder what they will tell you when you will ask about your part..
Thanks,
Ivan

Subject: [s-cars] Clutch Replacement
Hey guys,
My car has reached 147k miles and it is time to replace the clutch. I do
most of the work on my car myself but when it comes time for somebody else
to touch her I wont give her to just anyone, so I will be heading to
northern European automotive in NH tomorrow morning for the replacement.
The previous owner had work done there and from what I understand they are
good guys and they know their way around an s-car.
My question is they told me a stock clutch would be the best solution as my
car is only lightly modified (MTM 1+, stromung, samcos, suspension.) and
that the clutch will cost around $600 with about $600 in labor. Does this
sound right? Seems a little high for the clutch to be $600, blauparts and
autohausaz have some saches ones for around $350 but I'm not sure if they
are OEM, are they? Is there a cheaper way to source a stock clutch?
Thanks,
Chuck
