[s-cars] Clutch Replacement

Hi Chuck,
I'm almost in the same boat. My rear main seal went south and the oil has affected the clutch.
I bought a Centerforce for $375. Problem with the Centerforce is it doesn't come with the pilot or release bearings or a alignment tool (which NEA should have). So I had to spend add'l $$ for those.
So I also purchased a release bearing guide, input shaft seal, rear main seal (obviously), the slave and master cylinders, the hydraulic hose from master to slave, flywheel bolts, cat>exhaust nuts and bolts, turbo>downpipe and wg>dp gaskets as well as drive shaft seals. I also purchased a shifter rebuild kit.
My car has 90k but don't want to drop the tranny again for a while. I would like to find a reasonably priced 6spd but haven't had much luck.
BTW - Autozone has the Luk clutch kit (w/bearings, etc) for $285 (honestly I may have gone this route if I found the deal before I bought the centerforce). And if I need a flywheel they have a Luk listed for $345.

Subject: [s-cars] Clutch Replacement
Hey guys,
My car has reached 147k miles and it is time to replace the clutch. I do
most of the work on my car myself but when it comes time for somebody else
to touch her I wont give her to just anyone, so I will be heading to
northern European automotive in NH tomorrow morning for the replacement.
The previous owner had work done there and from what I understand they are
good guys and they know their way around an s-car.
My question is they told me a stock clutch would be the best solution as my
car is only lightly modified (MTM 1+, stromung, samcos, suspension.) and
that the clutch will cost around $600 with about $600 in labor. Does this
sound right? Seems a little high for the clutch to be $600, blauparts and
autohausaz have some saches ones for around $350 but I'm not sure if they
are OEM, are they? Is there a cheaper way to source a stock clutch?
Thanks,
Chuck
