Good tip! Always wondering what the use of dedicated ground wire is for when
the car is the ground, but sometimes you just feel the need is warranted. And
if it was then the fuse makes sense.

If you want to be really safe, e.g. prevent your gear from being
destroyed, fuse your earth lead too. When your starter loses its
ground or has a bad one, it will look for the best one available:
through your amp. This is commonly done for radio (e.g. Ham) installs.
