Good point, I hadn't thought of that! I will also
check my wiring for any wear- it has been about 10
years since I initially installed it, and 5 years
since I moved the battery to the trunk (with a fuse on
the amp hot lead BTW).
Also BTW- battery ground is attached to the frame at
the rear passenger side bumper mount bolt a few inches
from the battery. Initially I hadn't done a good
enough job grinding off the paint and guess what-
intermittent no start. Finally figured it out in the
hardware store parking lot- went back inside, bought
some sandpaper, voila no more problems.
Also BTW, I initially had the amp in the little
storage bin at the very rear (space now occupied by
the battery) but I had overheating problems.
Good luck Ben with all this input you should be able
to figure out a clean, durable install.
