On AudiWorld "Original S-cars" forum there are many stories of cracked and broken H&R sport springs.  I think the problem is due to the plastic covering cracking and allowing salt slush to get underneath the cover and corrode the springs. It seems like almost everybody who installs H&Rs has this problem eventually.  You *never* hear similar stories about Eibach springs.
