Id say it really has to do with how its deformed. roll the dice. luckily
its not hard to re re-do the job.. This is why it is suggested by some to
place gasket maker(thinly) goo around corners and trouble spots.
Presuming you dont have any air tools you could put a buffer wheel on and
clean up, you could get by with 1000 grit wet-sand paper. Other than that,,
maybe a little brake/carb cleaner on a rag. Elbow grease!
remember, you can fold the sandpaper to get into grooves.
