[s-cars] NAC Toyota RAV4 Question

All,

Sorry for WOBW.  Daughter drives a 98 RAV4.  Aside from using it as a
rolling dumpster, she carts herself, her friends, and sometimes a
younger brother to high school and other local places.  I seldom have
reason to drive it.

However, during the recent S6 multi-project, I used it to make a
couple of parts runs.  It drove poorly with a noticeable bucking
engine lag as the clutch was engaged - most obviously in second gear.
I plan on doing the usual (air filter, oil change, oil filter, plugs)
but wonder if anyone on the list can suggest other things to look at.
It has the little four-banger engine.

Also, does anyone know of helpful web-sites where RAV4 junkies might
hangout and discuss the Toyota versions of torsen and proper oil
choices?
