The FOV issues are definitely reduced with good IR illumination and the
latest NVGs, as long as you can
get your hands on them- harder to buy current gen. NVGs than it is to buy
level IV armor.

Especially with a co-pilot, he/she can keep an eye out for obstacles that
you might not see while driving.

Trunk-tracker, that's what I was thinking about. Uniden doesn't make one
that does them all? Last I looked at scannerworld.com, I thought it would,
but I don't know which frequencies the police use.

Most PDs haven't invested in the latest technology, so at least the scanners
work- some PDs overseas have been using digital transmission,
frequency-hopping, encrypted radios for over 15 yrs. now.
