Lee,
Taka covered everything totally correctly. NER should be able to class you
correctly,
they're one of the powerhouse regions. No way you should be running against
Evos,
STX is mostly a WRX class. And they're right around 3300 lbs (ask me how I
know!).
And, yup, boosting is out, even in SP classes. For your Audi, really look at
reducing
roll, the improvement in transition rates will REALLY help you in the
slalom. You may
wish to start your roll reduction at the rear of the car, vs. the front, i.e.
you may want
to invest in swaybars as well as lowering your suspension, although you may
well be
as low as you can go and still get decent geometry. The thing that will
matter most
will be negative camber, go for as much as you can get, you really can't get
too much
on a street car. Believe it or not, tire wear won't be so bad with the
camber, however
the thing that will work quite well is toe out. Not the most stable, but it
will help get the
A4 to turn in. Unfortunately, the toe out will kill tires if driven on the
street.
Finally, make an appointment to take another Evo school. If your sliding
that much,
you're overdriving the tires. THe BFG's although not the top tier of ST
tires, aren't
THAT bad, so it's more likely you're carrying too much speed into the turns,
particularly
the slaloms. What kills time in slaloms is roll (transition time) or
entering too quickly,
you spend too much time recovering and waiting for the car to roll from side
to side.
One of the reasons I'm going to be mounting up a an HSRB sized FRONT bar on
the
Saabaru for next season, my mere 1" FSB helps, but I need more. Running in
SCCA
DS, and fighting the urge to go STX where I won't have to deal with ITR's
and 330's.
HTH,

And sorry I haven't gotten pics yet on the Borbet T's. Been up to my
eyeballs in Alligators
