[s-cars] questions regarding track pads

A couple of questions...what do you all recommend for track pads 
(Boxster S calipers)? Best source?

I will be doing my first track day in May (in the '01 A4) and want to 
be appropriately equipped...

Do track pads needed to be bedded like road pads? Is there any reason 
not to install them at home in the comfort of my garage and drive 70 
miles to and from the track?
