[s-cars] Factory POS alternatives?

Dave,

I've had an intermittent stumble plus I'm sure I heard some arching when
weather was damp a little while ago. I've been considering the 034 solution.
Wonder if there's a GB in the works.

I was actually just idly curious more than anything if they might be
interchangeable. Assuming the A4 has four channels and the ones in our
cars are three channels, if otherwise electronically compatible it might
be useful to know in my case.

I acquired a couple of spare A4 POSs a while back when I had some plans
to play around with my wife's A4 ignition system, and was thinking it
might be useful to know in case of a POS failure down the road in the S4.

I do plan on replacing the ageing ignition system in my S4 sometime, but
haven't yet picked a solution. I'm actually waiting to see what comes
of the GM LS2 coil pack solution a few have been working on in the AW
forum, and have been eyeing some of the 034 coil pack solutions also.

I had to replace a coil a couple of weekends ago on the S4, which was
the first part of the ignition system to go to date, so I figure the
rest will follow in a while too. For now though it's running ok and I'm
in no hurry. :o)
