Good luck. Of course, you could always cover the clock display with a piece of electrician's tape, but the VAG-COM solution is a little more elegant. :-)

  Bill:

I had found references to Kanal 19 in German texts where the setting is indicated to refer to the number of minutes between updates (with 0 indeed denoting deactivation) but I had not yet made the VAG-COM connection. I think your input will help me greatly.

  Thanks

   Gisli

Believe the Funkuhr can be disabled/enabled through VAG-COM.

    Channel 19:
    XXXX0: radio off
    XXXX1: radio active

I've had some feedback indicating that this radio-clock feature is specific
to the German model ("Funkuhr"). My German is nothing to write home about,
but I've been trying to figure this out by reading through some German web
      forums.
