I forgot precisely when the changeover was, but the earlier cars were
essentially B4 A4's, slightly stretched. 4-mo is essentially quattro,
drivetrain was either the same Audi 1.8T, the V6's started out as the 12V
2.8 superceded by the 30V 2.8 in 2001.5. The 08 that was suggested sucks in
snow (it's really the tires, I swear!) is the latest VW only chassis,
transverse mount either 2.0T or VR6 3.2 liters. And 4-mo is now Haldex. Two
distinctly different beasts, which is precisely what VAG marketing demanded.
