I couldn't agree more with Jim. Yeah, sometimes the cheap solution works
well and is even the "best" solution. But quality tools can't be beat, and
when you are talking about holding a vehicle, I'd want to go the distance
with quality jacks, jackstands, etc. The cost of failure is many times the
cost of the equipment IMO. If you are on a budget, keep an eye on Craig's
List. I've seen shops dump high quality jacks for pennies on the dollar when
they are going out of business or liquidating due to retirement or other
reasons. A bit of patience in this regard could be just the answer you - and
your budget - is looking for.
