I was hoping I misunderstood. Since that's a 78/22/78 torsen he's
installing, I'd sure be interested to know what a "much better result" is. If we take
a look at all forms of Audisport racing, from Groupe B to touring car, very
little documentation would support the statement. In Groupe B audi used
either locked front (with locked center and rear), open front (with locked center
and LSD rear), or 20% LSD front with locked center and locked rear.
Audisport gave the 20% locker choice to the driver, and very few requested it. In
BTCC, VC were used on all three locations with the same 20% locking front.
More than that in lockup, the car became unpredictable and understeer reared
it's ugly head. If you go over to offroading, a torsen front is found quite
often, almost always accompanied by lockout hubs. I drove a torsen front in a
first gen 4R, and it was obvious that the hubs were still locked.

The mod can be done, I just question where one would find a performance
benefit.

I don't think you understand me correctly.

He's putting the rear diff out of a V8 into the front diff
position in the 6 speed transmissions (edu/dsy).
