[s-cars] V8 rear diff swapped to replace the front diff in a 6 speed trans?

speaking of center differentials and VC, i was surprised to learn that the R8 has a VC center diff. torque split F/R varies from 15/85 to 30/70. is that the first audi to come with a VC differential? i wonder if audi just used the lamborghini gallardo drivetrain in the R8.

There's
a
definite
performance
improvement
over
an
open
front
diff...at
least
on
the
Japanese
toilets
I
drive.

Absolute
night
&
day
difference
in
front
grip
with
a
front
Quaife
differential
installed.

But
then
again,
there's
a
VC
in
the
center.

But
then
again,
what
do
I
know?
