[s-cars] intermittent no start = failing CPS?

No.  Not IME, anyway.  When my CPS failed the engine simply quit dead 
in its tracks.  It might or might not fire up again after a brief 
period of R&R (and perhaps a bit of cooling).  It threw no codes 
whatsoever therefore the CEL did not come on.
