i have experienced the power drop-off that you mentioned, but that's not the same as the hiccup in power delivery i noticed recently.  it was sharp and seemed more like a miss.  it only showed up under WOT, high-boost (while passing on a single-lane road).  happened a few times that evening but hasn't shown up again in the last couple of weeks.  could it be related to ambient temperatures?  it was pretty cold at tahoe.

Normal operation for the AAN boost control is for the boost to max 
out at an upper limit (which is determined by software and the state 
of tune - bone stock, upgraded some, or RS2).  Once this maximum 
level is reached the boost then falls back to a lower "steady 
state".  Is this the loss of power you are experiencing?

There can also be a miss caused by a coil failing or a POS 
failing.  These can be reasonably well distinguished by the nature of 
the miss.  If the miss happens only after significant boost has 
developed then it is probably caused by a flailing coil.  If the miss 
is full-time then look at the POS.
