John - welcome to the list. I'd follow Kent's advice and get yourself on
over to Scott Mockry's site. It's full of very helpful info, and while may
not help you solve this problem, will help you solve others for sure.
If you ever need a pair of spare hands, I'm in Denver, but am relocating to
Boulder at the end of Feb.
You can contact me off list at tom at freeskier.com.
Also, Bill Pichardo at Slipstream Automotive ( 4770 Sterling Drive, (303)
449-9843) in Boulder is very knowledgeable when it comes to S cars. I've had
good luck with those guys when I've needed stuff done to my Avant which is
out of my league (and have had them diagnose problems which I've gone on to
fix myself). Others on the list have reported that Modern Specialists are
good, too. But I've never had them work on my car.
And Imported Auto Parts (2718 Pine St, (303) 443-4763) has usually stocked
what I need, when I'm looking for something. Of course, the list is the best
source of used parts for your car, but sometimes you just want to replace a
starter or other essential part immediate and forgettabout it.
Good luck!
