[s-cars] Power steering hose (was Spokane HOH)

looking for some guidance here. i have the new hose on hand, and since i'm replacing a CV boot, i decided to get started replacing the power steering hose on my '92 S4 (from the pump to the rack). the part number on the bag is 4A1 422 893 Q, as specified in the thread below.
however, this hose isn't exactly the same as the old one. the old one appears to have integral crush washers in the banjo on the pump end. the new one is solid. both banjos appear to be the same size on the pump end, and i have to obtain two crush washers (looks like M16 or M18). the banjo at other end of the new hose, which goes to the steering rack, is smaller and appears to be M14.
i'm concerned, because the banjo bolt at the steering rack end has the same size hex (19mm) as the banjo bolt at the pump end. i've already determined that the banjo bolt from the pump is too large to fit through the banjo on the steering rack end of the new hose. so that means for this new hose to fit, the banjo bolt at the steering rack has to be smaller diameter than the banjo bolt at the power steering pump - yet the hex is the same size. i haven't tried to remove it yet because it's more difficult to get to.
i had stopped by the dealer earlier today to get crush washers, and the parts guy came up with this parts number: 431-422-271. four crush washers, all the same, two for each banjo. this seems to imply that the banjos should be the same size - but they're not. i left empty-handed, because the guy said they didn't have any and it would take two days to get them. he didn't know what size they were, either.
can anybody confirm whether i have the right hose? the banjo at the pump end of the hose measures 16mm ID (inner diameter), and the banjo at the steering rack end measures 14mm ID. the hose appears to be the right length and shape. it's just the banjos i'm not sure about.

You seem to have described the power steering hose part # 4A1 422 893
Q , Teddy, even if you can't see it well. This hose has mixed
reviews for a repair job, with a few reports of pulsing in the
steering. It was running about $250 to $275 for a new hose so my
advice was buy new. It is not the same hose at Blau, but I don't
know why Audi
didn't make it the same.
I can only suggest a dealer that gives Audi Club discounts or ECS.
On this note Clair Audi claims to give big discounts, and Carson
Heter at Riverside Audi parts has been
advertising on the allroad forum any OEM parts at 15% over dealer
cost to AW members. I don't see that being an exclusive club that
could exclude anyone. E-mail is cheter at riversideaudi.com. or 201 758
1600 ext 122. I know he has delivered on allroad parts and some
others, but I have no direct knowledge or connection. You can get
OEM parts online at www.worldimpex.com. I use them for lots of stuff
and use them to check OEM prices even if planning to buy elsewhere.
Impex is not as responsive as
other sites if you need a part immediately.
If you look at the many usual aftermarket parts sellers online, many
have a listing for the part but not in stock. There is some helpful
information there though, with the
banjo bolt sizes and the aluminum sealing washers at the rack. These
are the ones that are easy to remove but a real challenge to replace,
especially the banjo bolt with an aluminum washer on each side back
on the rack where you couldn't see very well and can't get your hands
in there very well either. :-) My thoughts are you only want to do
this job once, so do it right. On the other hand, look at the return
line from the rack with its many pieces of hard line and hose
connections down on the frame rail and hope you don't have to replace
that. HTH
