I was going to write that the advice was for next time, Tom.  It's  
too late now.

But, on reflection, it is not.  You can take some hand lotion or  
waterless hand
cleaner and coat all the fingertips and wear the gloves to keep it in  
place.
This will help remove the dirt that nail brushes can't get.

I prefer the nitrile versions for protection.  They are more  
resistant to oils and
a little tougher than ordinary latex.
