[s-cars] Rear Defroster Switch

Huw,
I'm willing to bet (a half eaten bologna sandwich) that you don't have any
modern Audis which run current through the heater elements in the mirrors at
all times (key = on).  Now way they'll last 300K miles.  I've replaced one
on my personal S4 at 60K.
