[s-cars] Saw my first A5

Nothing against the 2.7T, it's a great motor at altitude, but trying to get
it to work in a B7/B8 body while still keeping all the other systems happy
is an exercise in frustration. A 335xi makes a lot more sense in that price
range.

Having driven B5-B7 Audi's & E46-E92 BMW's, I have to say that BMW has it
nailed on the turbo thing now. That turbo 3.0L 6 feels like a small V8 with
its low end grunt & I'd say give it a year or 2 for the aftermarket to
really kick off. Drove a friend's E36 with a decent sized hairdryer on it.
He beats the ever loving piss out of the car & hasn't had any motor issues
to date (about 20k), so I can only imagine what the 335 motor will be like
once people really start leaning on them.

And a K04'd S4 is pretty much daily driver bliss so long as you don't try to
surpass 500HP. After that, you start breaking lots of stuff. IMO, it's an
engine in search of a better drivetrain.

Where's that link to the 2.7T Exige? :)
