Paul,

my check engine light would come and go, so that doesn't surprise me.

Glad you figured out what it is, know that while it's intermittent now
it can failcompletely at any moment, so if you drive the car and the
CEL comes on DON'T shut the car off, you could end up paying an
expensive towing bill.

If the CPS fails completely when you are driving the car the engine
will stay running even if it throws the CEL light. My advice is to
fix it ASAP and dont rely on the car as primary transportation.
If you drive it and the CEL comes on DO NOT shut the car off.
