Whoah Nelly!  Glad I perused this thread!  "Absolutely correct?"   Not  
maybe correct, but absolutely correct?   Moi?  I'll take it.
Dunno why everyone just doesn't do as I say.
That said, I have found another way (not recommended) to silence the  
hinges and that is to simply break the motor and park the car thereby  
eliminating the necessity to open them.
This is perhaps the pinnacle of S car nirvana:  A car so fast that it  
does not run.
And yes Penephite IS the ticket.
