Actually, when I had my cars registered for myself in Oklahoma, had a  friend 
there, I told my insurance company that the cars were operated in  
California, no OK.  They never seemed to care, where they were registered,  because I 
told them upfront.
 
I may be going back to OK, to do the same again.
