Thank you gents,

James Bufkin was of the same opinion as Dave so I think I'll proceed with
this head!

Regards,

Shawn

Calvin's point is a good one. However, a crack from the plug bore to the
valve seat is a very common and acceptable failure in the eyes of most
rebuilders... very common in VW, Audi and BMW.
I wouldn't see it as a major risk.

Ummmm....having not rebuilt an Audi engine my opinion may be incorrect, but
for all the engines Irebuild you definitely don't use a cracked cyclinder
head. These engines, although rare, are now "popping up" pretty regularly
and I certainly wouldn't sacrifice an engine rebuild for lack of an
 un-cracked head.
