No spring where I am. :) And we only get 97 RON, not the recommended 98 RON. Before the change of coil packs, I managed 8.6 l/100km over a long distance at 75mph with air conditioning (it's always at least 90F outside after 10am) on Castrol SLX 0W30. I am certain that 8l/100km is achievable if I didn't have to use the air conditioning.

Another possibility might be the annual spring reformulation for
gasoline. The percentage of oxygenated fuel is seasonally reduced
which, in itself, leads to better fuel mileage.
