The comments on the forum regarding this just motivated me to crack open a
beer on this lovely fall day in Colorado and toast the efforts of the //S
Festers. I think they do it right, and one more reason my I'll put any ANCA
membership dues towards attending that "annual meeting"
Best of luck to the membership getting that sorted out! Woooh.
Hopefully us Rocky Mountain S Listers can get some sort of "fest" organized
one day.

Thanks for the acknowledgements Tom, then Tom / Kenny / Dennis - definitely appreciated.
I'm with ya'll, esp. he who assimilated the ACNA crap with the current Presidential election and the subsequent disenchantment / disenfranchisement... couldn't have said it better - TUNED OUT.
While I commend the national clubs and efforts some appear to grow to behemoth status and become an instrument to themselves and their process rather than to their members. 'Tis why I've always gravitated away from them. Odd tho as others have mentioned, BMWCCA and PCA and VTR for example maintain stellar clubs - I do more with them even when I don't own one of their marques. Unfortunately ACNA seems to disenchant its base just as Corporate takes your $ then says "who are you again???" and flips you the bird - twice. Of COURSE ACNA's end result isn't intentional while Corporate's is but it's a no less unfortunate result.
I think other regions establishing gatherings and events is a great idea - heck - that's the whole darn reason I started //SFest in 2002. There was simply no way I would (could?) drive on out to friggin Minnesota for the S-Car-Nationals, and that bugged me so I threw a kegger in me yard and voila look where we are.
Tho, for clarification's sake and *not* to be putz... please... //SFest is what it is. Nationals were prior and were what they were. S-Fest West attempted to imitate and was what it briefly was. Others may continue to as well - great - good for ya'll. Awesome actually. But again, please - //SFest is //SFest. Call it something else or uh like um something and er stuff and like things - I think. Or something. We'll continue on evolving out here and doing our best to provide everyone who's interested with a unique experience of camaraderie, enthusiasm, and debauchery. Allegedly. Just Not Right, butofcourse. Toolbags need not apply, always been our mantra. Come with an open mind and we shall heed.
I really look forward to hearing of other gatherings and their exploits, shenanigans, etc. and DO hope there's much to see and hear. Get out there and do it!
Again, thanks for thinking of 'us' in regard to your disinterest in ACNA and for the Belgian toast. I do wish them best too in getting things (back) together. It's pretty nauseating in current state sadly. Be great for us to capture any of you out there who've been meaning to join us yet haven't. Whether or not you join or had or don't - we don't care - we enjoy our solidarity and aren't out to compete with anything / anyone.
Keep up the good werk out there men. Lots of greatgreat folk out there certainly, just a matter of shaking it all out.
And it's still the Q-Club if you ask me... so don't.
