[s-cars] Now have turning signal problem

So today I replaced the turn signal/hazard flasher relay. Double rate
flashing did not go away. Strange. Walked around front and back and this
time the rear turning signal is not working. Replace bulb with new generic
bulb. Still have double rate flashing.

Not get this. Swapped left and right bulbs and now all is well! Go figure -
one for the Audi Gods.

If anyone is interested, the turn signal/hazard flasher relay part number is
1H0 953 227 at about $28 CDN.

I'd start by replacing the turn signal relay.  It's a far sight easier than
replacing the warning buzzer speaker soldered onto the instrument cluster.

Today the problem morphed! The fuzzy buzzing has gone and turning signals
work though at double speed as if one bulb has blown but both are flashing.

Tonight a new problem with right turning signal started. When I lift the
stalk to turn right the IC starts buzzing (continuous fuzzy tone) instead of
indicator tone. No lights turn on front or back or on the IC. Left turn
works OK.
 
Occasionally everything works fine. Is this indicative of a failing stalk on
the column?
