Hey Bob,

Did  you try rebooting the car? ;-)

Not sure if it will help on these older cars, but disconnect both battery
terminals and connect the leads together for about 5 seconds.  Then
reconnect battery.  Probably only works on newer cars that have ECUs for
everything, but worth a shot.

As for the Celcius display on the A/C (and outside temp), I believe the
combo to toggle back and forth is holding down the RECIRC button and then
pressing the "+" button on the temperature control.  If not try the "-"
button, but I know it's one of those two combinations.
