[s-cars] POS ? Is Beru ZM 027 amplifier correct?

UrS4/6 ignition gurus,

I noticed on a friend's 95 S6 the following Beru Amplifier:

It's a Beru model # 0 040 401 027 (if the link above is faulty) and
supposedly an amplifier for the A6 (AAH?) cars. Is this sufficient to drive
an S6 ignition system? If not, what is he missing? (pun intended).
