No need. Nothing will be moving once you get that axle bolt tightened. You
might apply a coating as rust inhibitor.

To make your next procedure easier, leave the axle attached. Remove CV
spindle from wheel hub. Using the axle bolt, drive off the outer CV joint.
The bolt will do the job just fine once the thickness of the hub is no
longer preventing it from punching the end of the drive shaft. Be sure to
keep the CV and axle aligned so that the bolt drives into the right spot.
