...which I moved over from an article Kent wrote specifically for
Ubuntu Linux, so now it is a "how to install/run etka."  Contributions
for other platforms are welcome (and maybe we can revamp the
instructions for Windows to have a general procedure, noting changes
for different versions of XP.)
