You may have the wrong pressure plate. I replaced my stock dual mass with a
7A flywheel (which is what most of the AL flywheels are modeled on) and
found that you needed to fit a 7A-style pressure plate, which is
significantly deeper. There is a thread on this at

While I was doing the research, we heard about a number of premature slave
failures that we now believe were caused by using a 7A-style flywheel with a
stock (AAN-style) pressure plate- the extra 3/8" of travel that the
mismatched PP required was most likely the cause.
