Tom,

I think its rich from my previous posts trying to pass NJ inspection...

So the UrS4 at 115k didn't get through NJ emissions inspection this time.
Here's the data:
Requires HC below 100 and CO below 0.5


96k Dec. of 2004 HC 61 CO 0.04 pass
107k April of 2007 HC 81 CO 0.45 pass
115k Nov 2008 HC 117 CO 1.78 fail

Well, I replaced the plugs, boots, O2 sensor, changed the oil, ran 2 bottles
of 'guaranteed to pass' valve cleaner, and ran it very hard and very hot to
no avail. The numbers are still not good.
116k Dec 2008 HC 103 CO 1.99 fail - a bit worse than before.


I sent the RS2 (green) injectors out for refurbishment. I expect them back
today. It won't fix the problem, but it's good insurance since they were
used when I got them from a euro S2 (through Minhea) back in 2003.


It smells a bit rich too. I was really hoping for a bad G62 temp sensor to
be bad, but I had replaced it when I was doing all the coolant repairs and
it reads properly through Vag-com and a warm-up cycle.


Bob lent me some stock chips (haven't swapped yet) and the stock injectors
are currently in.
