Hi!
First off, a big shout out to Dave F for the FAQ over on audiworld.
What a wealth of centralized information! I've used it a BUNCH this
weekend.
Trying to figure out what's up with my driver's side seat heater.
Using 3 different write-ups, and some info that Wayne Dohnal posted,
here are my results: The elements check out (no breaks) and power is
getting to the seat.
I have battery voltage at the 6 pin connector under the seat on pin
1, using pin 3 as ground with the switch on. Both my back element and
my butt element have close to 1 ohm when checked between pins 1 and 5,
and 3 and 6 (with connector disconnected). Voltage measured on pins 5
and 6 (reconnected) are around 6 volts, which means everything should
be working properly, right?
These results are identical for the passenger seat warmer. However,
passenger works, mine does not. Wayne had noted in his post (obtained
from Charlie's site) that if you get these results you need to "go
back to square one".
Ok, so now what? Is the thermostatic control bad? is there a way to
test that on pins 2 and 4?
BTW - i did swap the switches to rule that out.
Thanks for any leads...
