With all due respect, you got a real turkey of a shop that, first of
all, botched such a routine and easy job, and secondly, didn't own up
and pay for the new oil pump given that it was their screw up.

Despite your experience, any oil seal at 150k is on borrowed time,
and will begin leaking soon. Not replacing a $5 seal while you've got
quick and easy access to it is nuts.

Given that they're so cheap ($10 or so through the group buy) it's
silly not to replace the CPS. It will fail eventually, and leave you
stranded. There's virtually no risk with this, as long as you can
solder competently.

I agree, and they will fail with disastrous consequences.
