Larry, those fogs have a relatively small aerodynamic 
footprint...I'll bet they wouldn't affect cooling at all.

I've got a pair on my B5 A4 and a second pair on my C5 A6...they 
are awesome lights!

But if you want to upgrade a C4 A6 lighting system, the first step 
is to upgrade the headlamps with TT xenon components. That 
provides a tremendous increase in useful lighting. I did this with 
both my wife's and son's cars.
