[s-cars] Adjusting shifter linkage, advice needed. 95 S6

I found the only way to do this efficiently was to have someone in the
driver's seat "testing" while you lay under the car doing the adjustment.

If you've not been there already, the push/lockout part of the reverse setup
is under the shifter boot, I've needed to lubricate this to get things
working smoothly.

Subject: [s-cars] Adjusting shifter linkage, advice needed. 95 S6

All,

Anyone have a been there/done that for adjusting the gear linkage. I
just got the car back up and running after doing the clutch and a
bunch of misc work. I have adjusted the shift linkage probably 20
times and can't seem to get it right. 1-5 work just fine, but for
some reason getting into reverse is almost impossible. This is really
frustrating me. Any advice would be helpful. Right now the linkage
is set so that the shifter is strait up in neutral, however I am going
to try slightly to the passenger side of that setting tomorrow.

Thanks,

James Shackelford
